James Mouat, Lead Designer on Need for Speed Rivals, recently updated his blog over at the offiicial Need for Speed website to show off car customization and how it works for both the cops and racers. Below, we have included some awesome, new screenshots showing off just that: car customization at its best!
These new Need for Speed Rivals screenshots show off some of the new cars that made the full car list in the game, including the new Mclaren P1, which looks particularly sweet using the Frostbite 3 engine. You’ll also notice the Nissan GTR as the cop car and a screenshot of Ferrari, which makes it return after being absent from the NFS series for over seven years. Need for Speed Rivals will feature a rich variety of dynamic weather, according to the official website: “The power of the Frostbite 3 gaming engine brings the breathtaking scope and high speed action of Redview County to life. Every detail of the game world is rendered in stunning, high definition, next generation graphics, while weather conditions constantly change as you race and chase in snow, hail, rain, dust storms and heavy fog.”
It’s exciting to see that multiple, dynamic weather effects will be present throughout NFS Rivals‘ open world and it could also provide a hint to seasons being in the game. Will we see spring, summer, fall and winter impact Redview County during the course of the game? Only time will tell and we hope to have more details at E3 2013, which is just right around the corner on June 10th!

As you can see, even before E3 2013, NFS Rivals looking drop-dead gorgeous and the enhanced graphics of the game are sure to add even more intensity to police cop chases throughout its single player and AllDrive modes.
Its rumored that you will have the ability to capture your most epic police chases in the game and share them with your friends. On top of this, friends can engage you in police pursuits utilizing the AllDrive features of the game, which seamlessly connects friends together in the same world.
